Our Story

FAIR OAKS THEATRE FESTIVAL was founded in 1983 by a group of local business and community leaders that recognized the value of the little-used Veterans Memorial Amphitheater. It became a public benefit corporation in 1984.

FOTF has since become a yearly tradition serving the community's need for affordable cultural activities in the northeast region of Sacramento County. The Festival provides reduced rate tickets for children, students, and seniors. The outdoor atmosphere provides play-goers with a comfortable, casual, and safe setting.

August 1983 FOTF produced its first play, Merry Wives of Windsor. Through the years our annual summer productions included Shakespeare's comedies, Gilbert and Sullivan, and a variety of Broadway Musicals.
